Ultimate Guide: The best Bay Area bakeries for pies

There are some folks who find great satisfaction and pleasure in making their Thanksgiving pies from scratch. For others? Not so much. For those of you looking to outsource your pies this holiday season, these Bay Area bakeries have got you covered.

Black Jet Baking Co.

Pies available: Banana cream, coconut cream, pecan, bittersweet chocolate pecan, pumpkin, double-crust apple, apple crumb, apple cranberry ($9 for 6-inch pie; $30 for 10-inch pie).

Other goodies: The shop also has its usual lineup of pop tarts, cookies, danish, croissants, bread and pumpkin layer cakes.

Need to know: Order through Nov. 18. Pick up at the Bernal Heights shop Nov. 20-21. Pickup also available 8-11 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Delivery available through Good Eggs, Luke’s Local and Postmates.

Pies available: Pumpkin, walnut, apple, pear-raspberry (also available vegan and gluten-free) and apple-cranberry ($30 each, except gluten-free, which is $33).

Need to know: Online-only orders through Nov. 19 (or until sold out). Mission Pie will be open Nov. 20-21 for pie pickups.

Manufactory pies available: Pumpkin, apple, butterscotch cream tart ($50 each). Bakery: Pumpkin, apple ($50 each), plus banana cream tart ($54).

Revenge Pies

Need to know: Pies can be ordered by email: preorder@revengepies.com. All orders will be scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Pies can be picked up at Revenge’s commercial kitchen (160 14th St.). Last day to order is Nov. 19.

Three Babes Bakeshop

Pies available: Bourbon-pecan, salty honey-walnut, bittersweet chocolate-pecan (gluten-free), classic pumpkin, pumpkin in graham cracker shell (gluten-free), classic apple, blackberry crumble (gluten-free and vegan options available). All pies are $40 each, except the gluten-free, which are $50.

Need to know: Order online at www.threebabesbakeshop.com. Pick up at its commercial kitchen (2501 Phelps St.). Delivery available via Good Eggs.

Little Bee Baking Co.

Pies available: Pumpkin and apple ($35 each); pear-pecan frangipane and Meyer lemon tarts ($25 for 6-inch; $35 for 9-inch).

Other goodies: Fresh ginger cake, honey apple upside-down cake, persimmon pudding, chocolate gateau ( $25 each for 6-inch; $40 for 9-inch).

Need to know: Orders taken through Nov. 19. If you want pies before Thanksgiving, two-day notice is required. Otherwise, pickup for pies is Nov. 21.
