Guerneville man dies in River Road crash

A Guerneville man who died from injuries after he was struck by a motorcyclist on River Road July 10 has been identified as James Greer, 70, of Rio Nido.

Greer was crossing River Road on what is known as the Rio Nido strip near Orchard Avenue when he was hit by a motorcyclist, said the California Highway Patrol.

Greer was transported by ambulance to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital where he died of his injuries, said CHP Officer Jon Sloat. The motorcyclist, identified as Geno Quecke, 28, of Petaluma, was also injured and was treated at Memorial for minor injuries, according to the CHP.

 The accident happened about 2 p.m. and drugs or alcohol did not seem to be involved, said the CHP.
